Staying Connected and Staying Sane with This Side UP! Family
Hello again!
We know life might be slowly getting back to normal for some of you with the gradual re-opening of Texas that started on Friday but school is still closed and events are still cancelled so we will keep providing resources and ideas as long as they’re useful to you! Here we go!
Something To Do:
We took another page out of Busy Toddler’s book this week and made Bubble Foam! We used two parts water and one part tear free bubble bath, plus a little food coloring. After combining, we used a hand-mixer on medium high for one minute to make the foam. It provided hours…ok… minutes, of entertainment and clean up was easy! I do recommend using it outside.
If your kids are a little older, they might like checking out NASA Kids’ Club or doing this fun Lego Bingo Challenge!
Something To Make:
Since schools are still closed, that means Mother’s Day crafts are going to have to be made at home this year. Here are a few cute (and EASY) ideas we have our eye on.
Something To Discuss:
One of the most common frustrations that I’ve heard people mention when talking about working from home is constant interruptions from kids. I’ve seen a few ideas about how much visual cues can help kids understand and respect boundaries in regards to working. Kate Danielson created a very clever (and informative) sign to help her kids know when to come in and when to leave her in peace. She made the signs available for download for free here and here! If you do use the signs, consider making a donation to Kate’s non-profit here!
Something To Give:
As we’ve mentioned before, North Texas Giving Tuesday Now is THIS Tuesday! Thousands of non-profits across the DFW area have been negatively impacted by COVID-19 and are in need of support from the community. If you’re able, consider making a donation to TSUF or another non-profit that works for a cause you care about! You can browse all participating non-profits here or make a donation to TSUF here.
